2. The service

Mashhud is an alarm that verifies wakefulness through checks you choose (Wudu, Steps), computes prayer times for your location, and keeps a record of witnessed dawns. Features may change as we improve the Service; we won't remove a core capability you paid for without a proportionate remedy.

3. Alarm reliability — read this one

We engineer the alarm to ring through silent mode, Focus modes, and low-power states wherever the operating system allows, but no software alarm can be guaranteed: a dead battery, a powered-off phone, OS updates, aggressive battery optimizers, or denied notification permissions can prevent ringing. Do not rely on Mashhud as your only safeguard for anything where missing a wake-up risks harm or serious loss (flights, shifts, medication). Keep the permissions the app asks for granted.

4. Accounts

You must be at least 13 (or your local minimum age) and provide accurate information. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. One account per person; you may use it on your own devices.

5. Purchase & billing

Mashhud is free to download. Arming alarms requires a purchase. For the first 500 members that is Founding lifetime — a one-time, non-consumable purchase (currently $19.99; local pricing may vary): no subscription, nothing that auto-renews, paid once and yours for life. For everyone else Mashhud offers auto-renewing subscriptions — currently Yearly ($49) and Weekly ($1.99); local pricing may vary, and these are launch prices that may change for new subscribers. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends; manage or cancel it any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. There is no free trial on anything — nothing quietly turns into a bill. Payment is charged to your store account; purchases and subscriptions can be restored on your other devices with "Restore Purchases." Refunds are handled by Apple/Google under their policies; where we control a payment directly, we honor the mandatory refund rights of your country.

The 10-dawn guarantee. The Founding lifetime purchase carries a money-back guarantee for your first ten dawns — the first ten mornings the alarm rings for you. If Mashhud isn't getting you up, request a refund inside that window: on iOS, Settings → "Request a refund" opens Apple's own refund sheet; if Apple grants it, the paid unlock is removed automatically — nothing else for you to do. If your platform has no in-app refund path, or the store declines a request you made inside the window, email services@mashhud.app and we will refund you ourselves. One guarantee per person, on the Founding lifetime purchase; it adds to — never limits — the refund rights above.

6. Emergency bypass

An emergency bypass can silence any alarm instantly; using it resets your record of witnessed dawns — that is its designed cost, and you accept it when you use the feature. The bypass is always available: no setting removes it. Mashhud never blocks access to the rest of your phone, emergency calls, or system functions.

7. Acceptable use

Don't break the law with the Service, probe or disrupt our systems, scrape or resell it, reverse-engineer the app except where the law grants that right, misrepresent aggregate community statistics as your own, or interfere with other users. We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Health & safety

Mashhud is an accountability tool, not a medical device, and provides no medical advice. Sleep-cycle information in the app and on our site summarizes published research for context. If you have a sleep disorder, or persistent severe grogginess, consult a qualified professional. Never perform checks while driving or in any situation where handling a phone is unsafe.

9. Religious guidance

Prayer times are astronomical calculations using the method you select; they can differ from your local mosque's timetable. Mashhud is a tool, not a religious authority — verify times with your community where precision matters, and follow your own scholars on questions of practice. The record is for you alone; it is not a measure of anyone's faith.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, marks, and software are ours or our licensors'; we grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on your devices. Your record and settings are yours — we claim no ownership, only the license needed to store and sync them for you. Qur'anic text and translations are used with reverence and remain beyond ownership.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable. Sections that by nature survive (liability, IP, governing law) survive termination.

12. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties beyond those the law makes non-waivable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including a missed alarm, missed prayer, missed flight, or a reset record — and our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits; where they don't, they don't apply to you.

13. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules; disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Florida, except where your local consumer law gives you a non-waivable home venue. Before filing anything, email us — most issues are fixable in one reply.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new terms; if you don't, cancel and stop using the Service — and if a material change harms an active paid period, contact us for a proportionate remedy.
